20. februārī aicinām uz īpašu džeza vakaru ar Noama Lemiša kvartetu (Noam Lemish Quartet) – spožu mūziķu apvienību no Kanādas, kuras spēks slēpjas gan izcilā individuālā meistarībā, gan dziļā, eleganti veidotā saspēlē.

Kvartets Liepājā viesosies sava jaunā albuma There’s Beauty Enough in Being Here prezentācijas turnejas ietvaros, piedāvājot emocionāli piesātinātu koncertprogrammu.

?Noams Lemišs savā daiļradē apvieno dažādas kultūras, žanrus un tradīcijas. Viņš ir gan džeza pianists, gan kamermūzikas komponists, gan pētnieks, kura mūzikā bieži dzirdamas drosmīgas idejas. Viņa kompozīcijās jūtamas džeza, klasikas, pasaules mūzikas noskaņas un improvizācijas brīvība.

?Sundars Visvanatans (Sundar Viswanathan) – godalgots saksofonists, dziedātājs un komponists, kura muzikālā identitāte ir tikpat daudzslāņaina kā viņa biogrāfija. Dzimis Indijā, taču savā spēlē apvieno džeza tradīciju ar pasaules mūzikas elementiem, intensīvu emocionalitāti un melodisku brīvību. 

?Endrū Daunings (Andrew Downing) – daudzpusīgs un augstu novērtēts kontrabasists, čellists un komponists, kurš darbojas gan džezā, gan kamermūzikā, gan pasaules mūzikā. Viņš ir atvērts moderniem, eksperimentāliem meklējumiem.

?Niks Freizers (Nick Fraser) – viens no radošākajiem Kanādas bundziniekiem, kurš vairāk nekā divas desmitgades aktīvi veidojis Toronto jaunā džeza un improvizācijas skatuvi, izceļoties ar enerģisku un spilgtu spēles stilu.

Šis vakars būs īpašs piedzīvojums gan džeza cienītājiem, gan tiem, kas vēlas iepazīt mūsdienīgu, emocionāli bagātu un profesionāli izsmalcinātu mūziku. 

Vakara turpinājumā sekos džemsesija, kurā ikviens improvizēt gribētājs varēs kāpt uz Pegaza skatuves un ļaut skaņdarbiem transformēties, balstoties spontānajā radošumā, kas ir džeza būtība.

On February 20, we invite you to a special jazz evening with the Noam Lemish Quartet – a brilliant ensemble from Canada whose strength lies both in outstanding individual mastery and in deep, elegantly crafted interplay.
The quartet will visit Liepāja as part of the presentation tour for their new album There’s Beauty Enough in Being Here, offering an emotionally rich concert program.

? Noam Lemish brings together various cultures, genres, and traditions in his work. He is a jazz pianist, a chamber music composer, and a researcher whose music often features bold ideas. His compositions reflect jazz, classical, and world music influences, along with the freedom of improvisation.

? Sundar Viswanathan – an award-winning saxophonist, vocalist, and composer whose musical identity is as multilayered as his biography. Born in India, he blends jazz tradition with elements of world music, intense emotionality, and melodic openness.

? Andrew Downing – a versatile and highly regarded double bassist, cellist, and composer who works in jazz, chamber music, and world music. He is known for being open to modern and experimental explorations.

? Nick Fraser – one of Canada’s most creative drummers, who for more than two decades has been an active force on Toronto’s new jazz and improvisation scene, known for his energetic and expressive playing style.

This evening will be a special experience both for jazz enthusiasts and for those who wish to discover contemporary, emotionally rich, and artistically refined music.

The night will continue with a jam session, where anyone wishing to improvise is welcome to step onto the Pegaza stage and let the music transform through the spontaneous creativity that lies at the heart of jazz.
